Day in the Life
Stagecoach is one of the UK’s largest bus operators, serving communities across East Kent and East Sussex, with routes extending into West Kent, including Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells.
The brief
Like much of the transport sector, Stagecoach relies on a highly skilled workforce and faces ongoing competition to attract and retain drivers, engineers and operational staff.
We were briefed to create a recruitment-led campaign that could showcase career opportunities within the business, while also reinforcing the vital role public transport plays in keeping local communities connected.
Our approach
We proposed a people-led creative treatment built around a series of self-authored films, allowing colleagues from across the organisation to tell their own stories.
The aim was to bring individual roles to life, showing the human side of the operation and helping potential applicants understand what working at Stagecoach really involves.
Filmed in a fly-on-the-wall documentary style, each film follows contributors through a typical day, capturing the pride, responsibility and teamwork required to keep services running safely and reliably.
This approach avoided scripted messaging in favour of authenticity, reflecting our belief that people connect with people, not job descriptions.
The outcome
The finished content formed the backbone of a sustained recruitment and awareness campaign, distributed across YouTube, Facebook and Instagram with ongoing paid promotion.
Over the first 12 months, the campaign generated more than 1.44 million video views, helping to raise awareness of career pathways within Stagecoach and reinforcing the organisation’s role as a public service employer rooted in the communities it serves.
The campaign was shortlisted as a finalist at the Royal Television Society Southern Awards 2022 in the Short Form category, and also named a finalist at the UK Bus Awards 2022. These nominations validated the power of authentic storytelling in transport recruitment and demonstrated how insight‑led video content can deliver both cultural impact and industry recognition.

Joel Mitchell, Managing DirectorWe’re absolutely thrilled with the impact the series has had, but the thing we’ve really enjoyed about working with Digitom is the marrying up of corporate values.
