Brewery tour
Shepherd Neame, founded in 1698, is the oldest brewery in continuous operation in Britain.
Based in Faversham, Kent, the brewery has played a central role in British beer culture for more than three centuries.
The brief
We were briefed to update a film used as part of the brewery tour experience, helping visitors better understand the brewery’s history and gain a behind‑the‑scenes view of the brewing process.
The film needed to feel contemporary and engaging, while respecting the heritage and authority of the brand, and work seamlessly within the refurbished Visitor Centre environment.
Our approach
Working closely with Shepherd Neame’s communications team and brewery archivist, we developed a creative treatment that refreshed the scripted narrative without losing its original intent.
The approach blended newly shot, high‑quality film with carefully selected archive stills, supported by kinetic typography to add clarity and pace.
Presented by Chief Executive Jonathan Neame, the film was produced in 4K resolution and re‑versioned for both English and French audiences. This ensured accessibility for international visitors, while maintaining consistent storytelling across languages.
Our focus was on clarity, flow and longevity, creating a film that would stand up to repeated daily viewings as part of a physical visitor experience.
The outcome
The finished film forms a central part of the multi‑million‑pound refurbishment of Shepherd Neame’s Visitor Centre in Faversham.
It provides visitors with a clear, engaging introduction to the brewery’s history and processes, setting context before they explore the site in person.
By combining heritage material with contemporary production, the film supports a richer visitor experience and demonstrates how thoughtful storytelling can enhance place‑based brand engagement over the long term.
