Medthority

Food allergies

Medthority, developed by EPG Health, is a trusted online medical resource providing independent, evidence-based clinical content for healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and pharmacists.

The brief

Our client needed an animation to help healthcare practitioners better understand the emotional burden experienced by a young patient living with food allergies.

The content needed to move beyond clinical information alone and explore the everyday challenges faced by both the patient and their family, while maintaining scientific accuracy and professional credibility.

Our approach

Working closely with the EPG Health team, we developed a voiceover-led animated film that follows a young patient and their parent as they attend a paediatric appointment to discuss treatment options and available support.

The narrative was designed to reflect a realistic consultation, grounding the emotional experience in a familiar clinical setting. Using a script written by EPG Health’s medical writers, we translated complex information into a clear visual language.

Our storyboard combined character animation with kinetic typography and iconography, allowing clinical detail and emotional insight to sit comfortably side by side. This people-led approach reflects our belief that storytelling can support professional learning more effectively than instruction alone.

The outcome

The animation provided Medthority with a focused e-learning resource that helps healthcare practitioners better appreciate the emotional impact of food allergies on young patients and their families.

By combining human experience with evidence-based messaging, the film supports more informed, empathetic conversations in clinical practice. This project demonstrates how animation can be used to communicate complex and sensitive health topics with clarity, purpose, and care.
